Motor Racing Australia has confirmed its 2026 racing calendar, with eight events across Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit and One Raceway and three 300 kilometre endurance races locked in. All 2026 events will operate under Motorsport Australia permits and procedures, giving competitors a consistent framework for licences, officials and regulations at every round.
The 2026 season keeps the familiar mix of sprint and endurance racing, with SuperTT, Excels, Pulsars and visiting categories all playing key roles through the year.
Endurance focus with three 300 kilometre events
Long distance racing remains at the centre of the MRA programme in 2026, with three 300 kilometre events confirmed.
Wakefield 300
Round 2, One Raceway, Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 MarchSydney 300
Round 4, Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit, late Saturday 13 JuneShelley 300
Round 8, One Raceway, Saturday 14 November and Sunday 15 November
Each 300 kilometre event will run with a full support card and practical, club level endurance formats designed to suit a wide range of teams.
SuperTT six round programme
SuperTT will run a six round programme in 2026, with five point scoring rounds forming the championship and one additional appearance at Bathurst as a non championship round.
The year will start with a one hour SuperTT enduro at Round 1 on Sunday 1 February at Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit. This opening event sets the tone for the season, combining longer distance running with the usual SuperTT sprint focus at later rounds. The Bathurst appearance will sit outside the points but remains part of the overall SuperTT calendar for 2026.
Further details of the SuperTT championship structure and race formats will be released separately to competitors.
Category notes for 2026
While the top level calendar remains simple, there are several category updates and crossovers that competitors can start to plan around.
Improved Production Racing Association (IPRA)
IPRA will join the MRA programme at the Sydney Motorsport Park round on Saturday 16 May and again at One Raceway on Saturday 8 August. These two meetings add strong grids of modified production cars to the May and August events and give IPRA competitors options at both venues under the MRA banner.
RX8 Cup at the Shelley 300 weekend
RX8 Cup will race with MRA at the final round of the year, the Shelley 300 weekend at One Raceway on 14 and 15 November. Their inclusion adds another multi race programme to close out the season.
Clubman Championship and NSW Supersports crossover
The Clubman Championship opens its 2026 season at Round 1 on Sunday 1 February at Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit, sharing the track with NSW Supersports. Keeping the lightweight sports cars together delivers healthy grids and clear track time at the first event of the year.
Alfa East Coast Challenge at One Raceway
Alfa Romeo Racing will join Round 2 and Round 8 at One Raceway as part of the Alfa East Coast Challenge. The programme will feature a specialty under 2 litre race, run as a one off for the smaller capacity cars, and the Alfio Challenge for the non 2 litre cars. This gives Alfa competitors something different at the start and end of the season and adds more variety for spectators at the Wakefield 300 and Shelley 300 events.
Excels, eight round championship including State of Origin
Excels will contest an eight round championship in 2026. Seven rounds will be held with MRA in New South Wales, with only one MRA date not on their schedule, so teams can plan for a near full local programme using familiar venues and dates. In addition to the NSW events, the category will travel to Queensland for a State of Origin round in August, giving drivers an interstate trip as part of their overall season.
Motorsport Australia structure all season
Every MRA event in 2026 will run under Motorsport Australia permits and procedures. This alignment covers licences, officials, incident processes and documentation and sits in line with the broader Motorsport Australia framework that many competitors already work within at State and National level meetings.
Individual categories will publish their own detailed regulations, class structures and points information closer to the start of the season. Supplementary regulations and entry details for each round will be released in stages.
