MRA/FoSC Releases Bumper 2019 Schedule

After a hugely successful 2018 season, Motor Racing Australia in combination with Festival of Sporting Cars is pleased to announce an expanded calendar for the upcoming 2019 season.

Spanning nine events, and twelve days of competition, 2019 will be the biggest season ever.

Running from February to October, the series will visit Wakefield Park in Goulburn, and Sydney Motorsport Park, at Eastern Creek, where four rounds will be held on the Gardner GP Circuit, and two events will be contested on the North Circuit.

While no less than 13 different categories will feature at MRA events throughout 2019, the headline event of the season will be the inaugural running of the ‘Sydney 300’, which will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park in early March.

The 77-lap race will be conducted in similar fashion to the 300km races previously held at Wakefield Park, and Winton Motor Raceway.

The Sydney 300 will be a 2-day event for all support categories, and will feature a one-hour endurance affair for the Superkarts. All other events will see categories complete their program in one day, including the visits to Wakefield Park, in February and August, where the event stretches over two days.

Signature Motor Racing Australia categories, Super TT, Series X3 NSW and APRA NSW will all return in 2019, as will the Mazda MX5 Cup, Clubman Championship, Superkarts and Stockcars.

Regularity will be back as well, while Super Sprints will feature at MRA events for the first time, for competitors chasing outright speed.

Stables of the Festival of Sporting Cars events, the British and Sports Car Series, Historic and Invited Touring Cars, and the NSW Historic Touring Car Championship, will also feature again in 2019.

Another highlight of the 2019 schedule, will be when Super TT competitors contest their annual enduro round, on the Sunday of the August outing at Wakefield Park.

Elsewhere, categories that feature on the MRA schedule will also feature at Wakefield Park sanctioned events throughout 2019.

In May, the Clubman Championship will feature on the support card of the Wakefield 300, while the last weekend of November will once again play host to the endurance races in APRA and Series X3 NSW.
